Dear Colleagues,
In order to maintain our research growth trajectory in a challenging funding environment, we are announcing two targeted internal seed fund programs to drive proposal submissions and their success rates. Each program will offer awards of up to $20,000.
- Fund for Proposal Development (Special call): The Fund for Proposal Development is available to support faculty teams who need targeted, short-term resources in order to submit a competitive external proposal. This mechanism is intended to accelerate proposal production. Apply here
- Fund to Integrate Artificial Intelligence in Research (Special call): The administration has announced significant investments in AI. Researchers in engineering, social sciences, and natural sciences are encouraged to consider ways that AI might be incorporated into their existing research or ways that it might allow them to move in new directions. Apply here
For each program, funds must be spent in a timely fashion and must result in an external proposal being submitted this year. Internal proposals are due January 31st.
- Faculty Research Grant FRG (Standard Program): This cycle, our ongoing FRG program will focus on supporting research in the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences. The submission deadline is February 8th. Apply here
For questions, please join us for a Zoom information session at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 8th. Register here. If you are unable to join, please reach out to Kate Bullard at ksb216@lehigh.edu.
