Sanctioned Countries

The following lists provide information on countries with designated sanctions. Any travel, shipments, or research engagement with entities located in one of these sanctioned countries or individuals who are located within or are citizens of these countries will require authorization from Lehigh's Export Control Officer prior to enagement, as an export license determination may be necessary. Contact Lehigh's Export Control Officer for a consultation as early as possible in the process, as obtaining an export license can be a lengthy process.

The countries listed below are subject to either comprehensive sanctions or targeted sanctions. Comprehensive sanctions prohibit virtually ALL exports/imports and other transactions without a license or other US Government authorization. Targeted sanctions are prohibitions on trade in specified goods, technologies, and services with specific organizations (including foreign governments) and persons.

An export license may be required to ship or transfer "controlled" technology, data, or items to such countries outside of the United States (the technology, data, or items are considered to be "controlled" if found within the CCL or USML). This includes the transfer of "controlled" technology, data, or items to foreign nationals of one of these countries either currently located within the U.S. (i.e., deemed export) or outside the U.S.
