Dear colleagues,

I am writing to share a draft Research Misconduct Policy, which is in the final stages of development. The Faculty Senate provided conferral at their November meeting. I would like to thank the following faculty members who served on the working group that developed the policy:

Beibei Dong, College of Business
James Gilchrist, P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science
Michael Gusmano, College of Health
Craig Hochbein, College of Education
Lucy Napper, College of Arts and Sciences

The public comment period will run from November 20 to December 4, 2025. During this time, all members of the campus community may review the draft policy and submit questions and comments. The university is required to maintain a research misconduct policy that complies with the federal Public Health Service Research Misconduct regulations. Questions and comments may either be addressed by making revisions to the draft policy when appropriate, or by incorporation into FAQs or supplemental guidance.

The final policy will go into effect on January 1, 2026.

Best,

Naomi
